The conference will be held at The Dana on Mission Bay for a second year in a row. Lodging

We have partnered with The Dana on Mission Bay for a second year. RegAF 2021 will be hosted at The Dana on Mission Bay, and the hotel is again offering discounted accommodation to any attendee of the conference. The discounted room rate is $179.00/night for conference attendees.

  • Firefly: A contemporary restaurant that features plates perfect for sharing and hearty entrees to enjoy on your own. Prepared with local ingredients and vegetables from the on-site garden, Firefly is great for a relaxing lunch or dinner with friends.

  • Tidal: Located on the shores of Mission Bay, Tidal features savory seafood plates that are simple and speak for themselves. Stay warm by one of their fire pits while taking in the expansive view of Mission Bay at this beach house-turned restaurant.

  • Cannonball: Cannonball is the largest oceanfront rooftop in San Diego, with the views of a beach club and a menu that will leave you unable to make a decision. Cannonball offers inventive sushi and Pacific Rim-inspired dishes, like their Soba Noodle Bowl or their Lamb Lollipops.

  • Mizu: A mix of classic and Japanese fusion dishes served from the heart right in Mission Bay Park. Choose from an extensive list of sushi, or opt for a Korean-inspired plate.

  • NoW Cafe: Stop by this little cafe to support the NoWorriesMovement and their fight to end animal cruelty. This cruelty free cafe serves vegan menu items such as sandwiches and delicious bowls, and the best part is that proceeds from the cafe go right back into the NoWorriesMovement!

  • Sara's Mexican Food: Yes, there are plenty of Mexican food restaurants in San Diego, but nothing is quite as unique and authentic as Sara’s Mexican Food in Mission Bay. The taco plates and tortas are filled with flavor and will make you feel as though you have taken a trip across the border.

  • Luigi's at the Beach: Stop by this family-owned Italian restaurant that has an extensive selection of sandwiches, pastas, pizzas, calzones, and so much more. Located right across the street from Belmont Park, Luigi’s is hard to miss.

  • Cafe Bahia: Cafe Bahia is the signature restaurant at the Bahia Resort Hotel that serves locally sourced California food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner right on the Bay.

  • Landing Grille: Located next to Seaforth Landing, this hidden spot serves up breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and some of the most fresh seafood around Mission Bay. Landing Grille is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy food as you soak up San Diego sun and watch tourists come and go throughout the day.


San Diego Zoo & Safari Park

Who doesn’t want to spend their day looking at gorgeous animals at one of the world’s best zoos? The San Diego Zoo and the Safari Park are two of the best parks in the world, and for a good reason. The San Diego Zoo spends their time and resources looking after each and every single one of their animals, from the tiny Fennec foxes to the graceful giraffes. Discover how they care for their elephants in the Zoo’s Elephant Odyssey, and take the Africa Tram at the Safari Park to get close encounters with wild animals!

Balboa Park

Balboa Park is conveniently located right next to the San Diego Zoo, and is a great place if you have time to do some exploring. There are over ten museums throughout Balboa Park, each one as unique as the next; whether you’re a car geek or a history buff, there is sure to be a museum for you! Take a stroll through the relaxing gardens and end at one of San Diego’s most well-known restaurants, The Prado. There are endless opportunities for discovery and adventure when you spend time in Balboa Park!

Liberty Station

Looking for somewhere different to eat? Stop by Liberty Station in Point Loma for an expansive display of dining options. Walk through the labyrinth of mini restaurants that awaits you inside, or choose from one of their more established restaurants that dot the property. Discover art galleries and hand-crafted items within Liberty Station, and end the day watching a movie in a recliner at The Lot.

Gaslamp Quarter

Day or night, the Gaslamp Quarter in Downtown San Diego is always busy with fun activities. Littered with restaurants of the highest quality and fun watering holes, there is always something to fill up unscheduled time. During August, the Gaslamp hold its Artisan Market between 10am and 3pm, the perfect way to spend a day off. Take your time meandering through the 16-and-a-half blocks that make up the Gaslamp, including the Convention Center and the San Diego Padres’ Petco Park.

Little Italy

If you choose to come into San Diego early for some relaxation time before the conference, the Farmer’s Market in Little Italy is a must-try! Local vendors line the blocks of Little Italy every Saturday selling delicious mini-cheesecakes, cute bandanas for pets, locally grown fruits and veggies, and so much more. Spend the day at the Farmer’s Market, or spend your evening wine tasting in the largest Little Italy in the U.S.

Beaches

Luckily for us, the conference will be held less than a mile from Mission Beach, one of the many beautiful beaches that line the Southern coast. Spend your down time exploring Belmont Park and its restaurants, or take a morning walk down the boardwalk to neighboring Pacific Beach. Thankfully, August in San Diego is one of the warmer months, so the weather will be perfect to stretch out on a chair and review presentation slides or relax and read a good book!
